About the Editor
JAVED MALICK is a Delhi-based academic and theatre scholar. He taught English Literature at Delhi University. He has lectured and published in books and journals in India and abroad on subjects relating to theatre and drama. His book length publications include Toward a Theater of the Oppressed: The Dramaturgy of John Arden (U of Michigan Press, Ann Arbor); Diverse Pursuits: Essays on Drama and Theatre (Aakar Books, New Delhi); and Imaginations of an Alternative World: Social Hope Before Marx (Aakar Books, New Delhi). Among his edited volumes are A Critical Companion to Dario Fo’s The Accidental Death of an Anarchist (Worldview, Delhi) and (coedited with Neeraj Malik) Habib Tanvir: Reflections & Reminiscences (Sahmat, New Delhi). His English translation of Habib Tanvir’s Agra Bazar was published by Seagull Books. For several years, he was freelance theatre columnist for a number of national dailies (including Times of India, Economic Times, and Telegraph).
